The hotel's coastal decor brought back nostalgic feelings, resembling a charming seaside cottage. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the access to the beach made morning walks delightful for this senior traveler.

More comfortable seating options in common areas.

Staying on the 3rd floor provided stunning views of the ocean, with comfortable accommodations that made for a relaxing stay. The sliding door to the balcony offered a great sound of the surf, although privacy could be a concern due to the shared space. Registration was efficient, despite a brief delay as staff were on the phone, and the dog-friendly policy is a great perk. The salmon at dinner stood out as a highlight of the dining experience.

    friendly staff

Every room has an ocean view! ! Watching the sunrise from the balcony was like magic, you gotta try it! Also, the staff? So friendly, they made you feel like family, it’s rare these days.

It was a bit pricey, but worth it for the experience.

The beachfront location was fantastic, with stunning views and friendly staff that truly enhanced the experience. Rooms are a bit dated and lack A/C, but they’re clean and comfortable. The shared balconies can feel a bit public, but overall, it met expectations for a laid-back getaway.

    sunrise view
    waves sound

You won't believe the sunrise views from the room, it's like nature's own show every morning. The sound of the waves? Unbelievable, I just left the window open and let it rock me to sleep.

It wasn’t exactly cheap but acceptable for what you get.

    friendly staff

the cape ann motor inn has a fantastic location right on the ocean! it was amazing to enjoy the views from the patio and listen to the waves. the room was clean and comfortable, really capturing that cozy, old coastal vibe we were looking for. we loved being so close to the beach and appreciated the friendly staff. also, the easy parking made our stay even smoother.

the patio area isn’t private at all, which was a bit disappointing.

    privacy concern

I loved lounging on the deck while listening to the waves crash and enjoyed the beach vibe with friendly folks strolling by. The view was unbeatable, and the beach access made for some relaxing afternoons. Just a heads up, the sliding door could be tricky for privacy, but it didn’t ruin my overall awesome stay. 🌊

Just a top selection for an overnight stay in Gloucester with reasonable value. The views from the third floor were fantastic! Consider using the sliding door lock for some peace of mind.
